Election Commission on Friday (February 13) announced the official results of 297 seats in the 13th Jatiya Sangsad election.
EC Secretary Akhtar Ahmed made the announcement at around 11:30am from the results stage at the Election Commission building, officials said.
The EC said results for Chattogram-2 and Chattogram-4 were being withheld under a court order and would be announced later.
On Thursday (February 12), the EC issued three separate letters saying results would not be announced in Sherpur-2, Chattogram-2 and Chattogram-4 because court cases were pending. The Sherpur-2 result has since been announced.
It was also learned that the EC will not publish the gazette.
Based on the announced results from the 297 seats, Bangladesh Nationalist Party has at least 210 seats, Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami has 65, and National Citizen Party has six, while the remaining seats have gone to other parties and independent candidates.
The referendum and the 13th parliamentary election were held on Thursday (February 12) in 299 constituencies.
As of 12:30pm, the commission had not provided the referendum results. It also had not provided a party-by-party tally of seats won.
The EC earlier postponed voting in Sherpur-3 after a candidate died, saying a new schedule would be issued for the constituency.
